1. Agreement

By using thecompressjpeg.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

2. The service

thecompressjpeg.com provides a set of tools that compress, resize and convert images, build PDFs from images, and edit documents. All processing takes place in your web browser on your own device. We do not receive, store or process your files.

The service is provided free of charge, without an account, and without any guarantee of continued availability. We may change, suspend or withdraw any tool at any time.

3. Your files and your responsibility

You retain all rights in the files you process. You are responsible for having the right to process them, and for the consequences of doing so.

Keep your originals. Compression is often irreversible. Because your files never reach us, we cannot restore, recover or reproduce anything you lose. Always work on copies and retain the original.

4. Acceptable use

You must not use this site to process material that is unlawful, to infringe anyone's rights, to attempt to interfere with the operation or security of the site, to make automated requests at a volume that degrades it for others, or to remove or obscure any notice on it.

5. Intellectual property

The site's design, text, code and branding are owned by us or our licensors and may not be copied or redistributed without permission. This does not apply to files you process, which remain entirely yours, nor to output produced from them.

6. Third-party content

The site may contain links to other sites and may display advertising supplied by third parties. We do not control that content and are not responsible for it. Following an external link is at your own risk.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any particular output will meet your requirements.

Results depend on your browser, your device and the characteristics of your files. Compression is a lossy operation for some formats and will discard image detail permanently.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, nor for any loss of data, profits, revenue or goodwill arising from your use of this site. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms.

10. Changes

We may revise these terms. The date above will be updated when we do, and continued use of the site after that constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
